Arcachon
Oysters, Ocean & Architectural Dreams
Just 50 minutes south of Bordeaux, Arcachon is known for its beach life, oyster culture, and natural beauty.
The city is divided into 4 parts:
Summer Town (city center) with its walkways and restaurants. One of the main attractions is Marché d’Arcachon.
Winter Town adorned with stunning 19th-century villas. If you’re into architecture, La Ville d’Hiver is where you will find the most beautiful villas.
Autumn Town is the port and the fishing area of Arcachon.
Spring Town is home to Arcachon’s most popular beach Plage Pereire, with white sand and a view of the Cap Ferret peninsula on the other side of the bay.
Take the ferry to Cap Ferret for an amazing seafood lunch or visit the nearby Dune du Pilat, Europe’s tallest sand dune - if you dare, go for the parachute jump above the dune!
