Explore the Region
Montréal is located in the Gascony region, within a 2 hour drive of Toulouse and Bordeaux. The seaside town of Biarritz along the Atlantic coast lies 2.5 hours west of Montréal and the Spanish boarder and the Pyrenees mountains are about 3 hours south.
Gascony is famous for its hearty food (think foie gras, duck, and bayonne ham) and is also the birthplace of Armagnac. It is often referred to as “French Tuscany” due its valleys and many medieval villages; Montréal itself, along with the nearby village of Fourcès, has been nominated as one of 6 “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” in Gascony.
Montréal is a rather quiet and small place and seeing that many of you are coming from afar and are likely arriving via Toulouse, our guide below focusses on nearby towns that we feel have slightly more to offer.
We love France and hope you are as excited as we are to explore South West further. If you have any questions about what to do, what to see, or where to go, please reach out to us.
